The right Wedding Location is likely more important to you than you will realize immediately after you have accepted his proposal. You have a wedding to arrange and traditionally that is the job of the bride or her parents, but whether your future husband helps out or not makes no difference to what has to be done.

Your first instinct is to set the date for the wedding, but it is a bit more complicated than that. You will find that the Wedding Location might set the date, not you. Unless you have a specific date that is very important to you, unlikely as it might have seemed at the beginning, the venue will probably be more important to you than the date. After all, what is a week or two where getting your ideal venue is concerned.

The location for the ceremony might also be your choice of reception location, though they might be different, in which case you will need both available on the same date. So that is your immediate task – before thinking of the date, the guest list or the gown. However, having decided roughly when, though not the exact date, get your wedding locations booked up. Get that settled first and that will obviously be the date of the big day. Although the wedding date might not be exactly what you would prefer, you have your idea location and that is what matters. The actual date is not so important as the Wedding Location.

As for a Wedding Location, you have a fantastic choice today, unlike your mother or grandmother would have had. You can be married in a traditional church, or at short notice in a wedding chapel. You can be married on a beach or on a cliff top. In these cases your reception will also likely be provided on the beach by professionals who specialize in beach weddings. Now that is a wedding with a difference, and they are now very popular. Cliff top weddings too are popular, normally in a bower at the top of a cliff. Orange County, California specializes in these with the reception nearby and also outdoors if you wish it.

Gazebo weddings are also popular, taking the edge off the hot sun in warm climates, and again with the option of outdoor or indoor receptions. There are also fairly novel wedding locations available such as museums and libraries, or more exciting venues such as in a haunted hotel. You can also experience a shotgun wedding in Arizona or something much more novel. There is an Undersea Lodge in Key Largo where guests have to scuba dive over 20 feet to enter the Wedding Location. The ceremony and reception is held underwater in the lodge where the married couple can also spend the night with the fish swimming past their window.

Wedding Location - tradition

You can be married on a train or on a boat and enjoy the journey during the reception. Whichever you choose: the traditional, the beach, the scary or the unusual your location must be able to handle your guest list. There is no point in booking a Wedding Location that holds 100 if you have invited 120. Your first job, therefore, would appear to be to get your guest list sorted out, and then the wedding location and then set the date! No wonder so many couples just put the whole thing into the hands of a professional to organize for them!

Wedding Location - size

If you choose a Wedding Location, including ceremony and reception – combined or separate – that can easily hold the number of guests you are estimating, you can book that first, taking into consideration your specific type of venue. You can then set the date, work out your guest list and then start on booking the limos, the catering, the flowers the . . .
