When you start to plan your wedding, the Wedding Destination will be one of the top items on your list. Whether you marry in a church, on a beach or in a hotel, you will have to make your mind up quick since the sooner you book, the more likely you are to get the destination of your choice on your preferred date.

Many couples have to arrange the date around their preferred Wedding Destination because they do not leave enough time between that date and booking. Sometimes that is because they want to wed as soon as possible after the engagement, and at others because they are unaware of how popular many of the spots they are considering actually are. Even booking a year in advance is no guarantee that you will have a good choice of possible dates.

A traditional church wedding is still very popular, and many couples like to get married in their own church if they are regular worshippers or in that of their parents. Although Saturday weddings are traditional for churches, this is not set in stone, and you can marry on any date except Sunday. If you prefer something less traditional and formal, but still having a religious setting, most areas have a choice of wedding chapels, where you can get married at fairly short notice. A Wedding Destination is commonly indoors, but gazebo chapels are also popular in states such as California and Florida.

A hotel Wedding Destination can provide everything you need for your whole wedding, including the reception, and there is a massive choice of hotels available throughout the USA and the rest of the world. If you want something different however, try a beach wedding. There are many beach wedding destinations, and you can travel to California, the Caribbean and even Hawaii. Nothing is more romantic than being married on a beach in the sunset, and enjoying an outdoors candlelit reception. If that does not suit you, then you can try Niagara falls, which while being more popular for honeymoons, is also a fabulous setting for a wedding.

Wedding Destination - themes

Many couples prefer a themed wedding for their Wedding Destination, or at least something that breaks with the usual traditional. At Las Vegas you can be married on the bridge of the USS Enterprise, or have a casino or poker theme wedding. Try Orange County in California, and enjoy a Disneyland wedding in their own Wedding Chapel. Any of these unusual wedding destinations will provide you with a day that you will always remember, and your guests will too.

Not all wedding destinations have to be traditional or the complete opposite though. There are many unusual Wedding Destination places for you to get married in, including one of many historical locations. You can be married in San Antonio and have your reception at the Alamo café, and if you look carefully enough you can likely find somewhere to be married close to any of America’s famous historical sites.

Wedding Destination - choices

Your Wedding Destination can be in a museum such as the Marconi Automotive Museum at Tustin, Orange County in California, and in the Empire State Building, New York. Or how about an open air wedding in Central Park? Other fabulous wedding destinations include Lake Tahoe, or up in the Canadian Rockies at Banff. The scenery is fantastic, and so are the weddings. It will take your breath away – and not just because of the altitude!

If you want your Wedding Destination to be a bit different to the usual thing, then have a look at what is available all around you. Set yourself a budget, and think of your guests. If you live in California you can hardly expect a whole bunch of guest to be keen on attending a ceremony in Anchorage, Alaska, so be reasonable. However, you are sure to be able to find a destination that suits you somewhere within traveling distance of your home town. Most people just don’t look hard enough.

Failing that, why not have a nice local Wedding Destination and reception and then splash out on your honeymoon. Sure, your guests are important, and so is your wedding ceremony, but why spend a fortune getting married then spending your honeymoon at home because you ran out of money?

Find a Wedding Destination that is good for you, and that has good facilities for the ceremony and the reception, while keeping the needs of your guests in mind. If there is something exotic nearby, then great. If not, then enjoy what you have and then go away on a fabulous honeymoon. But before you give up on that fantastic wedding destination with a difference: are you sure you have looked hard enough and that you have not given up too quickly?
