The Richard Nixon LibraryJust 15 minutes from Disneyland, the magnificent White House East Room, and spectacular galleries are perfect for couples who are looking for an extraordinary location and a historic evening. Receptions and Wedding Halls Wedding Halls - sizeWedding Halls come in a wide variety of sizes, shapes and types ranging from church halls with few facilities to country houses with massive wedding halls that can hold more guests than you could ever invite. There are also halls specifically designed for wedding receptions and those that are available as a stand-by option for an outdoor reception. In planning your reception you must obviously determine the number of guests. This might seem a simple thing, though your reception list need not be the same as the guest list for the ceremony. Ceremony Wedding Halls are frequently smaller than that for the reception, and you may have friends that you would like to invite to your wedding, but for whom there is not enough room at the ceremony. In such a case your reception list will be larger than that for the ceremony. Wedding Halls - choicesNow that you have your guest list decided, you will have to decide whether the reception will be formal or informal. Is there to be a seated set meal or a buffet? That will partially be determined by the time of your wedding. A reception starting after 5 or 6 pm will likely involve a full meal, and then an evening dance, while a mid-day reception might be restricted to a buffet lasting an hour or two. Do you want Wedding Halls that come complete with catering and a bar, or are you not fussy about the alcohol? Would you prefer Wedding Halls where you can look after your own catering? All of these have to be decided beforehand, since they will have an influence on your choice of wedding halls. Do you want the venue all day, is there room for a band or a DJ and what restrictions are there in noise and evening events? Finally, what is your budget? Cost will likely have a significant bearing on your choice of Wedding Halls. Wedding Halls - requirementsHaving written down all of your requirements, you should then look around. An internet search is a good place to start since you might be able to draw up a short list of Wedding Halls. You will probably have a few places in mind before you even start looking, but it is always a good idea to keep an open mind since you don’t want to make a booking, pay your deposit and then find something much better at a lower price later. Ask friends about Wedding Halls they have visited. Have they noticed anything that really stood out? Check the Yellow Pages if you want, and look for adverts in the local bridal stores. Check out everything because there is generally a wide range of Wedding Halls to choose from. If you are on a tight budget, your church might have a hall attached that will cut down on transport between the Wedding Halls ceremony and the reception. Wedding Halls - cateringChurch Wedding Halls do not generally provide catering, but you might have a friend or even a family member than can handle the catering. The Wedding Halls might have cooking facilities or you may have to have the food brought in. In such a case it is often better to have a buffet: you can get a great buffet for $8 a plate. Some church Wedding Halls even have an alcohol license. At the other end of the spectrum are the grand Wedding Halls in country manors or stately homes that are frequently hired out for weddings. They often come with the catering, but not always, so make sure you check on that before making a decision. Some Wedding Halls also come already decorated, thus saving on the flowers. Always check what you are getting for your money with a stately home or country house, since you could be charged hundreds or even thousands of dollars for nothing but an empty room. Wedding Halls - costSometimes school Wedding Halls and town halls can be rented at low cost for weddings. Again you have to check on the catering and alcohol situation, but town Wedding Halls, especially, are fine for alcohol. If they are used to renting out for wedding receptions, they will likely have a list of recommended caterers. Irrespective of the type of hall you are considering, don’t forget to check out the important amenities such as number of restrooms (you don’t want one cubicle for 200 guests!), parking facilities and fire escapes. Wedding Halls - venueIf you are having a beach wedding, or any other type of outdoor wedding, you will likely want to have Wedding Halls booked in case of emergency. Even if you are having a barbecue reception in your backyard, you might not be able to fit all the guests into your home if the heavens opened. It need not be anything fancy, and used only temporarily in the case of a passing shower. However, your guest will be grateful for your thoughtfulness and foresight. Wedding Halls can be wonderful reception venues, but you must do your homework, know your guest list and physically visit the hall before making a booking. The amenities are important, and the decoration and catering have to be very carefully checked out. Wedding Halls do not always look like the photograph, but if you choose carefully, preferably on the recommendation of a friend or relative, then your wedding reception should be a wonderful part of a great day.
