Choose a Wedding Centerpiece that Your Guests Will Remember Wedding Centerpiece - choicesA Wedding Centerpiece can be what you want it to be. It can be a traditional floral arrangement or something more avant garde made from candles or even martini glasses. Whatever it is, it should stamp your personality on your wedding. There are no conventions that you must stick to, and almost anything goes as long as it is reasonably tasteful and appropriate for a wedding reception. When you plan your Wedding Centerpiece, you should take certain things into consideration before making your choice. First, is the centerpiece to be taken by the guests? Many brides have centerpieces that are intended as gifts for the guests, so there must be enough for one for each guest, or at least each couple. Wedding Centerpiece - ideasThese can be small floral decorations, candies or small candles: practically favors in fact, and your chosen Wedding Centerpiece could be small stands containing a number of favors. Cake stands would do, or even nice vases – some vases are ideally shaped and designed for a wedding meal table, and can be filled with all sorts of favors from which guests could choose their own. If that does not appeal to you, then your Wedding Centerpiece could be seasonal, such as candles or tiny fir trees with gifts hanging from them in winter, or autumn flowers and leaves, or even pumpkins, in the fall. However, many brides and grooms don’t want the usual floral decorations and are looking for something novel. Wedding Centerpiece - uniqueIf you do choose candles, you should dress them up a bit, but keep in mind that the smell of scented candles can be offensive to some people and ruin their meal. Keep them plain and unscented, though they can be dyed and sculpted. You can get some very beautifully designed candles that would grace any Wedding Centerpiece. Allow the guests to take them home at the end of the evening. If you are looking for something truly unique, how about a few large bowls containing live fish? Put some gravel in the bottom to complete the effect, perhaps in the same colors as the brides and bridesmaids dresses. The fish would only be there for a while, and they would certainly keep the kids occupied - and quiet! You could have small bowls of fish food available so that the children could feed the fish. Just enough food to do without having the fish overfed. That would be a great conversation Wedding Centerpiece, and certainly something different. It is a matter of personal preference if this is right for you, but it will certainly amaze your guests. Wedding Centerpiece - costsA chocolate fountain would make a wonderful Wedding Centerpiece on the head table, and it is sure to be well used by most guests. The kids will love it and will certainly remember YOUR wedding! Make sure you have enough marshmallows though. It can be left up during the reception and everybody could help themselves: at least until the marshmallows or chocolate run out! If you have a tight budget, then a Wedding Centerpiece need not be expensive. Some glass bowls, clear or colored, would look lovely with some tea candles floating in them. Three of four tea lights in each bowl will give a lovely effect. You can add some flower heads to the bowls to enhance the effect, and hey presto! You have an inexpensive table decoration to compete with the best you could purchase from a store. Wedding Centerpiece - requirementsThere are some rules that you stick to when choosing or designing your Wedding Centerpiece. First, it should not block the line of site of any of the guests. All guests should have a clear view of the bridal table without having to strain round a massive table decoration. Also keep in mind the major function of the reception table. It is for eating at, and the centerpiece is merely a table decoration. Guests should have the room to eat without all available space being taken up by the table decorations. That space will determine the size of a Wedding Centerpiece, which will in turn be determined by all of the other items needed on the table, including wine glasses, any other flowers and all the other paraphernalia that can be found on a wedding table. For most success with your wedding centerpiece, then, you should design the table as whole and not just a collection of individual items. In that way everything will be planned, all will have its place and your reception tables will look works of art rather than being put together higgledy piggledy. Wedding Centerpiece - memoriesYour Wedding Centerpiece will not make or break your wedding reception, but will be noticed and will be remembered, especially if they are good. If you plan well and design them properly to suit each table, then your reception will be as good as you can make it, and will be as memorable to all of your guests as it will be to you.
